Food and water
Prepare the familiar meal, refresh water, separate cats when needed, and observe actual intake.
Litter and cleanup
Maintain boxes, observe urine and stool, clean pet-related messes, and notice changed access or output.
Companionship or space
Offer play, conversation, brushing, or quiet presence based on what the individual cat prefers.
Home integrity
Check doors, locks, temperature, packages, lights, plants, trash, and obvious household concerns.
Approved medication
Complete scheduled tasks when the medication plan and cat’s tolerance have been reviewed.

Daily check-ins are not the default answer for every cat.
Twice-daily, overnight, or boarding support may be safer for kittens, frail seniors, diabetic cats, medication-dependent cats, recovery cases, appetite-vulnerable cats, or cats who become distressed alone.
