How information moves through Portland Cat Sitting.
This policy explains the information used by this website, the browser-based ZIP estimator, contact links, and the external Cats in the City client portal.
Effective August 11, 2026

Who operates this website?
Portland Cat Sitting is a Cats in the City family service. Website and service questions may be directed to Cats in the City at 503-214-2003 or admin@catsinthecity.com.
What information does the website collect?
Like most websites, the hosting, security, and analytics systems may record technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, requested pages, approximate location, timestamps, and cookie or session identifiers. The site may also preserve supported advertising-attribution parameters, including UTM values, gclid, fbclid, and msclkid, during the browser session.
What happens to information entered in the ZIP estimator?
The estimator uses ZIP code, number of cats, care days, visit frequency, holiday visits, parking, and selected care procedures to calculate a planning estimate in the browser. The website does not automatically turn that estimate into a reservation or send it to the client portal. Copying, printing, emailing, or entering the information in the portal is a separate action taken by the visitor.
How is referral attribution handled?
Supported referral and advertising parameters may be stored temporarily in browser session storage and appended to Cats in the City client-portal links. This helps the organization understand how a request reached the service. Session storage generally ends when the browser session ends, subject to browser behavior and settings.
What happens when I use the client portal?
New-client registration and existing-client login open an external Cats in the City client portal. Information entered there may include guardian contact information, household access, cat profiles, veterinary contacts, medications, requested dates, payment information, and service communication. The portal provider and payment processors may have their own privacy, security, and retention practices.
What happens when I call or email?
Information voluntarily provided by phone or email may be used to answer questions, evaluate service area and care fit, coordinate an account or request, maintain records, and communicate about Cats in the City services. Do not send highly sensitive payment or identity information through ordinary email.
Does the site use cookies or third-party services?
The WordPress hosting environment, Jetpack-connected services, security tools, analytics, embedded media, maps, and linked external services may use cookies or similar technologies. Visitors can manage cookies through their browser, although disabling them may affect some site functions.
How is information shared?
Information may be shared with service providers that support hosting, security, analytics, portal operations, payment processing, communication, and care delivery. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect safety or legal rights, or with the visitor’s direction. Portland Cat Sitting does not describe the website as a marketplace for selling personal information.
How long is information retained?
Retention varies by the type of information, service relationship, legal or accounting requirements, safety needs, dispute resolution, and the systems used. Browser-session attribution may be short-lived, while client and service records may be retained longer as part of the Cats in the City care relationship.
How can I ask about or correct my information?
Contact admin@catsinthecity.com or 503-214-2003. The team may need to verify identity and determine which system contains the information. Requests may be limited by legal, safety, accounting, or recordkeeping obligations.
Is this website intended for children?
The website and client-portal routes are intended for adults arranging feline care. The service is not directed to children who are unable to enter a service agreement.
Can this policy change?
Yes. Website functions, service providers, portal systems, and legal requirements may change. The effective date will be updated when this policy is materially revised.
