Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Portland Cat Sitting, a Cats in the City service, handles information submitted through this website and the connected client portal.
Who we are
Portland Cat Sitting is a feline-only in-home care service operated within the Cats in the City family. The website address is currently catsittingportland.com. After the approved domain transition, the canonical address may become portlandcatsitting.com.
Information you provide
We may receive information that you submit through this website, email, telephone, the ZIP and estimate tool, or the connected Cats in the City client portal. This may include your name, contact information, address or ZIP code, travel dates, home-access information, cat profiles, veterinary information, medication instructions, service preferences, emergency contacts, and messages sent to the care team.
ZIP and estimate tool
The estimator uses the information you enter to identify a published service zone and calculate a preliminary care estimate. Estimates are not guaranteed quotes. Information entered into the estimator may be stored temporarily in your browser so that it can be carried into a booking or review route. Do not enter door codes, alarm codes, payment information, or sensitive medical records into the public estimator.
Client portal
New-client registration, client profiles, service requests, care instructions, invoices, and other account functions are handled through a third-party client-management portal used by Cats in the City. When you follow a portal link, that provider’s privacy and security practices also apply. Information submitted in the client portal is used to evaluate requests, provide care, communicate with clients, maintain records, and administer services.
Attribution and analytics
The website may retain advertising or campaign parameters such as UTM tags, GCLID, FBCLID, or MSCLKID during your browsing session and append them to connected booking links. This helps Cats in the City understand how visitors find the service. The website or hosting platform may also collect standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed, and approximate location.
Cookies and local storage
The site, WordPress, Jetpack, embedded services, analytics tools, and the client portal may use cookies, session storage, or similar technologies for security, functionality, attribution, analytics, and account access. Browser controls can limit some of these technologies, although doing so may affect site or portal functionality.
How information is used
Information may be used to answer questions, evaluate service-area and staffing feasibility, prepare estimates, process registration and booking requests, create care plans, communicate about appointments, provide cat-sitting services, coordinate connected Cats in the City care, maintain operational and financial records, improve the website, protect clients and cats, and comply with legal obligations.
When information may be shared
Information may be shared within Cats in the City and with service providers that support hosting, client records, payments, communications, analytics, transportation, veterinary coordination, or other requested care. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to protect a cat, client, sitter, property, or the public; to respond to an emergency; to follow a client’s authorization; or to comply with law.
Home-access and care information
Door, alarm, building, and care instructions should be submitted only through the designated secure client process or another method approved by the care team. Do not send active access credentials through public forms or public estimator fields unless specifically instructed.
Data retention
Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to evaluate requests, provide and document services, maintain business and safety records, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and support future care. Retention periods may vary by record type and system.
Your choices
You may contact Cats in the City to request correction of inaccurate contact or care information, ask a privacy question, or request review of information associated with your account. Some records may need to be retained for legal, safety, accounting, insurance, or operational reasons.
Children
This website and its services are intended for adults arranging care for cats. The site is not directed to children under 13.
Security
Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect information, but no website, email, storage platform, or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Use the designated client portal for detailed care and access information.
External links
This site links to Cats in the City properties, the client portal, veterinary resources, maps, and other external services. Portland Cat Sitting is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of unaffiliated external websites.
